 Sea urchins are small,
spiny, globular animals found in oceans all over
the world. Related to the Starfish (or Sea Star)
and the Sea Bisquit these sea creatures are
covered with sharp colorful spines. When they die
the "hard part" that washes to shore is
called a "test" which has the beautiful
dotted pattern shown in the photos above.
The Sputnik Sea Urchin, (also
called Pencil Urchin, or Mine Urchin) has thick,
blunt spines that are sparsely arranged over its
rigid body and often resemble the
"Sputnik" satellite.
 This candle was made from
a real Sputnik Sea Urchin so the detail is incredible.
The tiny
holes where the spines once were produce the
intricate dotted pattern and raised textured
surface. This magnificent pattern is probably
the most unusual of all the sea urchins.
These
candles produce a warm, beautiful glow when lit.

This is a HAND
POURED
candle with SOLD COLOR wax throughout, not white wax
that's been dipped into colored wax. Premium
translucent paraffin wax and all-cotton wicks.
This slightly oval candle measures
about 3.25" Long x 3" Wide x 1.5"
High
